I FOUND MYSELF IN GUWAHATI

I found myself in Guwahati is a series of pictures taken in Guwahati - the largest metropolitan area in the Northeast India - upon invitation from Microclima (Venice, Italy) in order to gain an understanding of the local context. Situated on the southern bank of the Brahamaputra river, the city is an important commercial and educational centre. It is also the third fastest growing city in the country and hosts aconsiderable amount of ethnic and religious diversity. With neither international tourism nor adequate infrastructure, you inevitably find yourself immersed in its dynamics without any filter or comfort.
This peculiar aspect led me to an instinctive exploration of the place, carried out without considering any specific subjects or cultural expressions. However, there are recurring leitmotifs such as festive occasions, the seductive nature of the animals and details which usually go unobserved of the urban surroundings throughout the series.
